Greg Chappell, last "foreign" coach for Indian cricket?
Greg Chappell should be the last foreign coach for the Indian cricket team
I am not being chauvinistic when I say that Greg Chappell should be the last truly "foreign" coach for Indian cricket.
When I mentioned "foreign", I was referring to Greg Chappell's inability to understand Indian culture and try to work within the mindset of the Indian cricket team, the Indian cricket fans and the Indian cricket media
Unlike Greg Chappell, John Wright was almost an "Indian" coach
Unlike Greg Chappell,John Wright was loved and respected by the Indian cricket team members, since John Wright knew and understood the cultural sensitivies of the Indian cricket team.
The Australian methods of motivation employed by Greg Chappell were bound to fail with the Indian cricket team. Just look at John Wright's performance with the Indian cricket team - a World cup finals, beating the Australian cricket team in India and drawing against the Australian cricket team in Australia
Greg Chappell and maybe Sunny, need to learn from Steve Waugh's comments
Greg Chappell should learn from Steve Waugh's insightful comments about the cultural differences between the Indian and Australian cricket teams. Steve Waugh has rather insightfully pointed out to the respect expected by the Indian senior cricket players, the class differences apparent in the Indian cricket team's inability to carry their own kit and more
Whats more, Greg Chappell should have realized that in any job, it doesnt make sense to abuse any stakeholders- Greg Chappell's rude behaviour against the Calcutta crowd should have been enough to have thrown him out of Indian cricket team.
No Australian crowd would have allowed Greg Chappell to remain coach after his rude behavior against the Calcutta crowds!
Well,Guru Greg Chappell is unlikely to do well in Australia either as a coach
