I just checked the games since 2006 and Sachin has top scored in 9 of the 26 innings he has played during this time. While Sachin has failed in the WC, to say that he has been a consistent failure in the last few years is not true. His average in the same time period is the same as his career average too. It seems like the failure of the team is being projected onto Sachin - this maybe because of the fact that he hauled the team out of trouble in the last WC and since he failed this time all blame falls on him.

I absolutely agree with you,Sachin Tendulkar is still India's best cricket player and shouldnt retire now.
Some jerks like Ian Chappell suggest that Sachin should retire since he is no longer the best in the world- that seems to be a stupid reason to retire- I am a selfish Indian cricket fan, and I would like Sachin to continue as long as he can contribute to the Indian cricket team
