The windy, seaming conditions for the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket series should favor the South African cricket team

The South African cricket team should win the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket matches. The hostility of the South African bowling attack will be exacerbated by the presence of the harsh windy weather and a pitch expected to favor seam bowling

The South African pace bowlers such Ntini and Steyn could be expected to exploit the seaming conditions for the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket series in Ireland

The Indian cricket team for the India Vs South Africa one day international seems tentative and appears to be going through the motions

The frequent calls for the Indian senior cricketers to be sacked and adverse publicity after the World cup cricket debacle seem to have a detrimental effect on the Indian cricket team. The Indian cricketers such as Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar seem to be careful and tentative and not in a position to play their natural game

The GameCricket.com solution for the Indian cricket team in the India Vs South Africa one day international cricket test series, play the natural game

On pure statistics and past one-on-one encounters, the Indian cricket team is actually a better cricket team than the South African cricket team, as seen in statistical simulations of one day international cricket matches.

Michael Holding, why Michael Holding was the silent assassin of cricket

Michael Holding had the best bowling action in world cricket

Michael Holding did Jamaica and the West Indies cricket team proud by his incredible bowling performances in test cricket.

Here is a tribute to Michael Holding, who was easily the bowler with the best bowling action in world test cricket ever.

Michael Holding was called the "Silent Assassin" of world test cricket

Michael Holding had a silky bowling action that suggested that Michael Holding was just a medium pacer of the Mohinder Amarnath variety. But Michael Holding was able to generate such incredible pace without apparently expending any effort

Michael Holding's incredible bowling action also enabled to play test cricket for such a long time without any of those injuries that current fast bowlers always seem striken with

Courtney Walsh was Michael Holding's protege

Michael Holding's smooth bowling action has no comparison, the only other cricket bowler whose action came reasonably close was that of "nice guy" Courtney Walsh, who probably used his Jamaican association to learn a few bowling tricks of the trade from Michael Holding

Michael Holding to Geoff Boycott, a cool cricket video

Michael Holding makes Geoff Boycott hop, fish and finally lets him out of his agony by getting his wicket in this incredible bowling performance against the most dodgy of cricket batsmen

Why Graham Ford refused to be Indian cricket coach?

Graham Ford has refused BCCI's offer to be Indian cricket coach

Graham Ford is definitely one of the world's most intelligent cricket coaches. In fact, by refusing BCCI's offer to become the Indian cricket coach, Graham Ford has reaffirmed his stature as one of cricket's best thinkers

The Indian cricket team coach's position is an invitation to a cesspool

Graham Ford obviously realized that the Indian cricket coach's positions is a dangerous one, with the pressures of the Indian media, the huge expectations from the Indian cricket loving public and the interference from the cricket board, the BCCI

Even Greg Chappell was successful in the position of Indian cricket coach for some time, despite his obvious shortcomings, but soon sunk deep inside the quagmire

The Indian cricket team needs a cricket manager, not a cricket coach

As Kapil Dev pointed out many times, the Indian cricket team needs a cricket manager and not a cricket coach. Ye, BCCI gurus, at least now, heed the words of Kapil Dev, India's most astute cricket hand, and appoint a cricket manager who will only motivate but not attempt to coach

Graham Ford has smartly evaded the offer to be Indian cricket coach, but who will be the next victim of the BCCI?

Monty Panesar spins England cricket to series win over West Indies

Monty Panesar helps England cricket team beat West Indies for series win

Monty Panesar has ensured a win for the England cricket team in the second test match and a series win against the West Indies cricket team

In an exciting cricket test match, Chanderpaul of the West Indies stood between the England cricket team and a series win against the West Indies, but Chanderpaul soon ran out of partners and the England cricket team triumphed

Monty Panesar is on his way to becoming a truly great left arm spinner

I had recently wondered whether Monty Panesar will end up as just another left arm spinner. But Monty Panesar seems to have answered the question with a series winning bowling performance against the West Indies cricket team

Even when Chanderpaul was swatting his spinning deliveries like a lazy ungainly hippopotamus squatting a tse-tse fly, Monty Panesar kept flighting the ball and did not bowl flat, This aspect of Monty Panesar during this test match suggests that Monty Panesar is destined to be a great left arm spin bowler

Wishing Monty Panesar the best of congratulations for a truly great spin bowling performance against the West Indies cricket team

3 Secret reasons why Ford was selected as Indian cricket coach

Why Ford was selected as Indian cricket coach

The secret is out, Ford has been selected as the Indian cricket coach. Have you wondered why Ford was selected as Indian cricket coach?

Here are some of Ford's qualifications which made him the best candidate for the post of Indian cricket coach

Ford's candidature for Indian cricket coach

  • Ford is not a citizen of India. This is the most important criterion to select Ford as the Indian cricket coach

  • Ford has good experience of match fixing. I will not say more, but the Indian cricket board, BCCI,obviously thinks that Ford's experience in match fixing in Cronjegate will help his tenure in the Indian cricket team

  • Ford has not played test or one day international cricket. This is another important criteria which has resulted in Ford being selected as Indian cricket coach. The Indian cricket board is cunning enough to realize that a person like Ford who has not played International cricket has not had the opportunity made any major blunders in his cricketing career

  • ford

Zaheer Abbas, most stylish batsmen ever?

Zaheer Abbas may be the most stylish batsman to have played cricket

Zaheer Abbas, GR Vishwanath and David Gower are the most stylish batsmen I have seen playing test cricket.

How do you define style in cricket? Style in cricket implies elegance even when playing a bad shot or getting out. Zaheer Abbas exemplified style through his incomparable back foot square drive and Gundappa Vishwanath exemplified his style through his uppish square cut.

Zaheer Abbas and Gundappa Vishwanath may not have great batting records in comparison to Brian Charles Lara or Sachin Tendulkar, but they definitely had better "style" and elegance

Here is Zaheer Abbas at his best , executing a stylish back foot drive

Men In White ,by Mukul Kesavan is a great cricket book

Men In White, is a really cool cricket book written by Mukul Kesavan

I started reading Mukul Kesavan's Men In White with a lot of trepidation. Most cricket books are written by cricketers (read ghost writers) and lack the basic elements of good writing and humor. But Mukul Kesavan's Men in White really surprised me by being written brilliantly with some of the best metaphors I have ever read

My favorite metaphor from Mukul Kesavan's Men In White book
    • "GR Vishwanath looked like a sawn off dacoit and played like a wristy angel"

I first read Mukul Kesavan's Men in White and then started reading his blog

I just read read an article from Mukul Kesavan's blog on Why we root for Sri Lanka and really enjoyed it. Mukul seems to be one cricket writer whom I really like

In summary, I would really recommend that you read Mukul Kesavan's Men in White book about the characters that make world cricket

Monty Panesar,is Monty Panesar just an also ran?

Monty Panesar belongs to that amazing breed of left arm spin bowlers, who believe in wearing down the batsmen with their impeccable line and length

Monty Panesar's hero undoubtedly in the great Bishan Singh Bedi who bowled untiringly for the Indian cricket team for ages.

Bishen Singh Bedi was the classic left arm spinner, being hit for six was an opportunity for Bishen Singh Bedi. All he would do is to drop the next ball a fraction short, so that the batsman would get caught at mid-on

Monty Panesar should see the modern attacking cricket game as an opportunity

Monty Panesar should not be discomfited by the modern way of playing test cricket which includes scoring at almost four runs per over. In fact, Monty Panesar should emulate his mentor Bedi, and see the attacking batting styles of current batsmen as a great opportunity to either toss the ball a fraction more, or bowl a slightly faster ball

Monty can use the traditional left arm spinner's repertoire of varying spin, flight and length and will find that the modern cricket game is just fantastic for spin bowlers

Monty Panesar should resist the temptation to bowl flat to attacking batsmen

Monty Panesar should learn from the Harbhajan Singh story. Harbhajan Singh, another protege of Bishan Singh Bedi, took the wrong route by bowling flatter after being hammered a few times and now has his career in tatters

Monty Panesar should learn from Harbhajan Singh's experience and ensure that he does not attempt to take the easy route of bowling flat and terminate his career by being just another ordinary spin bowler

Monty Panesar has a great future ahead , as long as he keeps to the basics of traditional left arm spin bowling
