Ashes 2006 won by Australia-as predicted by GameCricket.com
The Ashes cricket test series has been won by Australia-The Ashes test series score is 4-0 so far and will probably get to 5-0 in favor of Australia.
You should have read GameCricket.com's prediction of the Ashes cricket series,2006 - You wouldnt have then been surprised at the performance of the Australian cricket team against England.
Why exactly did England lose the Ashes cricket series against Australia?
- Ashes Loss reason 1 :
The Stresscothick incident: Threscothick was England's best opening batsman for the Ashes cricket series against Australia- To come to Australia for the Ashes cricket series and then decide not to play was most unprofessional of Threscothick, irrespective of his personal problems. I dont call for being jingoistic, but citing personal problems while the England cricket team is fighting one of its biggest battles against Australia reeks of not having any national pride.
- Ashes Loss reason 2:
Inept team selection and captaincy by Flintoff: There is a lot of criticism for Fletcher in the Ashes cricket series-but the person who has to cop the blame is always the captain - Mr. Freddie Flintoff. Not selecting Panesar for the first two tests against Australia in the Ashes cricket series reeked of a really flawed selection policy.Even in the fourth Ashes test,Flintoff obviously has a very low opinion of Panesar's bowling and gave him just 12 overs in Australia's 300+ run assault.
- Ashes Loss reason 3:
The loss of confidence for Harmison: Harmison at his best is probably one of the best bowlers in world cricket- the images that we always remember are those of Harmison bouncing the cricket ball into the ribs of the Aussie batsmen in the 2005 Ashes cricket series. In the current Ashes 2006 in Australia,Harmison has been a shadow of his former self and seemed to be scared to put the cricket ball close to the Aussie batsmen
The good news for the England cricket team after the Ashes cricket series 2006:
The retirement of Shane Warne and McGrath is the best cricket news that England have heard for a really long time. With young players like Bell and Panesar in the team,England should hopefully have a better time in the next Ashes cricket series :-)
