Sachin Tendulkar is 35 today-What the world thinks of Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar - what people are saying about Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar turns 35 today and a good way to appreciate what Sachin has achieved for Indian cricket is to read what other cricketers, mostly his opponents have said about him

"Sachin Tendulkar was destined to be a great" -Barry Richards.

"Sachin Tendulkar is 99.5 percent perfect. I'd pay to see him" - Viv Richards.

"Don't bowl Sachin Tendulkarbad balls, he hits the good ones for fours - Michael Kasprowicz.

"It's scary, where the hell do we bowl to Sachin" -Allan Border

.

"There is no shame being beaten by such a great player as Sachin Tendulkar. We didn't lose to
Team India. We Lost to Sachin Tendulkar" -Steve Waugh.

"If I've to bowl to Sachin, I'll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard" - Dennis Lillee.

"I'd like to see Sachin go out and bat one day with a stump. I tell you he'd do okay" -Greg Chappell.

"Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime and I am privileged he played in my time" - Wasim Akram.

"The pressure on me is nothing as compared to Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin,
like God, must never fail. The crowd always expects him (Sachin Tendulkar) to succeed and it
is too much pressure on him" -Mark Waugh

"Everybody gets 15 minutes of fame. But if there's one person I've admired over a 15-year of period, it's definitely Sachin." - Brian Lara

"I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don't think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player" -Shane Warne.

"I saw Sachin Tendulkar playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two... his compactness, technique, stroke production... it all seemed to gel" -Sir Donald Bradman.

"In an over I can bowl six different balls. But then Sachin looks at me with a sort of gentle arrogance down the pitch as if to say 'Can you bowl m another one?'" - Adam Hollioke

Sachin Tendulkar is cricket's God? Barry Richards.

You might pitch a ball on the off stump and think you have bowled a good ball and Sachin Tendulkar walks across and hits it for two behind midwicket. His bat looks so heavy but he just waves it arounad like it's a toothpick? -Brett Lee

You have to decide for yourself whether you're bowling well or not. Sachin Tendulkar's going to hit you for fours and sixes anyway? -Micheal Kasprowicz

Technically, you can't fault Sachin. Seam or spin, fast or slow ? nothing is a problem? -Geoffrey Boycott.

Sachin Tendulkar's life seems to be a stillness in a frantic world... [When he goes out to bat], it is beyond chaos - it is a frantic appeal by a nation to one man. The people see him as a God... ? Mathew Hayden, on Sachin Tendulkar.

I (Embarrassed laugh) am a normal person who plays cricket. I am nothing more than that? Sachin Tendulkar, on being told of above quote.

"The fact of the matter is that India still need Sachin in a big way. All this talk of the youngsters taking over is very foolish. The reason why Tendulkar is so important for the team is because of his ability to inspire others and make them perform under pressure" - In the "Times of India" of the infamous "End"ulkar fame

"Sachin has everything a top batsman needs. Tendulkar is a classic example of a player being so good that his age is an irrelevance" Akram says in his autobiography titled "Wasim". He also stated a number of examples when he and his team were frustrated by Tendulkar's batting prowess.

David Boon "Technically Sachin Tendulkar stands out as the best because of his ability to increase the pace at will"

Ted Dexter: (who chaired the panel, the Coopers & Lybrand award as the International Test player of the year)
"This year Tendulkar has been the batsman nobody wanted to bowl at. He took Shane Warne apart in India, which illustrates his genius."

M. L. Jaisimha "The more I see of Sachin Tendulkar the more confused I'm getting to which is his best knock."

Cricket Historian Vasant Raiji "I have always felt C. K. Nayadu was the best. I now think Sachin has the honour of being the most outstanding batsman of all time."

Mike Selvey
"Tendulkar is the supreme right hander on the planet, a focussed technician who offers a counterpoint to Brian Lara's more eye catching destruction."

Jeff Thompson "Sachin is an attacker. He has much more power than Sunny. He wants to be the one to set the pace. He has to be on top. That's the buzz about him."

Asif Iqbal: (after India won at Sharjah)
"He has given a new dimension to batting. Such dominance can break the heart of the best of bowlers. I was never tired of watching this wonderful batsman."

Peter Roebuck "Sometime back I had written a piece that said that Sachin's the master and Lara a genius with his head high up somewhere. That's it."

Steve Waugh "You take Don Bradman away and he is next up I reckon."

"It was one of the greatest innings I have ever seen. There is no shame being beaten by such a great player, Sachin is perhaps only next to the Don''.

"When it comes to judging the best among these fabulous band of batsmen, my vote goes to Tendulkar. He has an uncanny ability to come out on top under different circumstances and under different conditions, whether it is Test cricket or one day internationals. And more importantly, he has done this so young. "
Allan Border: (after India won the Coca-Cola cup in Sharjah)
"Hell, if he stayed, even at 11 an over he would have got it."

Greg Chappell , who successfully destroyed India's chances in the last World cup says "He is a perfectly balanced batsman and knows perfectly well when to attack and when to play defensive cricket. He has developed the ability to treat bowlers all over the world with contempt and can destroy any attack with utmost ease. "

Tony Greig "He is cool, has magnificent temperament, and is so mature you tend to forget his age. I can't think of any other example of a player who has so dominated the world before the age of 25."

Paul Strang "What we (Zimbabwe) need is 10 Tendulkars."

Australian Media "The most exciting batsman of his time because he finds the right balance between reason and passion, technique and power, nerves and placement and judgement that applies to all tastes."

Sourav Ganguly was missed in CB one day series in Australia

Sourav Ganguly is thrilled

Sourav Ganguly was missed by the Indian cricket team during the CB one day cricket series in Australia

Sourav Ganguly was really missed by the Indian cricket team in the CB cricket series. Surprised?

There is so much said about the youngsters in the Indian cricket team being responsible for the Indian cricket team's win- but did the young Indian cricket batsmen do better than Sourav 'Dada' Ganguly?

The answer is a resounding "No"- Sourav Ganguly had a batting average of over 60 in one day international cricket matches over the last year of so- but all the Indian cricket batsmen in the CB series barring Mahendra Singh Dhoni had averages of less than 50.

The only batsman who came good in the CB finals was Sourav Ganguly's erstwhile senior partner, Sachin Tendulkar

In the absence of Sourav Ganguly, there were only two opening partnerships greater than 50- both of the partnerships had the greatest one day international "senior" batsman in the world- "Senior" Sachin Tendulkar play a major role

Sourav Ganguly was unfairly dropped from the Indian cricket team and his replacements are simply not good enough

Sourav Ganguly was treated badly by the Indian cricket selectors and Mahendra Singh Dhoni- We seem to be getting back to the bad old days, when the whims and fancies of selectors and Indian cricket captains decided the composition of the Indian cricket team

Sourav Ganguly's absence underscores that Youth is not important, only performance should the criteria for selection

Sachin Tendulkar said it best when he said that the seniors still have a role to play and the Indian cricket team should be selected based on performance rather than whims, fancies and age

Sourav Ganguly is a better fielder than a lot of "young" players in the Indian cricket team

Sourav Ganguly is a better fielder than at least Suresh Raina and Munaf Patel, who let a lot of balls slip under their feet-

Sourav Ganguly is supposedly a bad fielder and thats the reason he was dropped- but compared to the leaden footed "young" fielders in the CB cricket series such as Munaf Patel and Suresh Raina, Sourav Ganguly is definitely better

Sourav Ganguly could also have contributed with the ball in the CB cricket series

Sourav Ganguly is definitely an asset to any Indian cricket team - he would have been a valuable all-rounder in the Indian cricket team, and allowed the Indian skipper to even play an additional batsman

Sachin Tendulkar did bail out Dhoni's "youngsters", but the Indian cricket selectors should realize their mistake, and reinstate Sourav "Dada" Ganguly in the Indian cricket team

India Vs Pakistan cricket series-India favorites?

India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series predictions

The India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series is underway. The India and Pakistan cricket teams are set to battle it out for the first one day international cricket match at Guwahati

GameCricket.com is now ready with the predictions for the India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series in India

The Indian cricket team are favorites to win this India Vs Pakistan cricket series

The Indian cricket team have a good chance of winning the India Vs Pakistan cricket series. The Indian cricket batsmen like Robin Uthappa and Sachin Tendulkar are in tremendous form and a India Vs Pakistan cricket series is what is needed to bring out the best in batsmen such as Sachin Tendulkar, Robin Uthappa and Saurav Ganguly.

The Indian cricket team's batsmen and the Pakistan cricket team's bowlers hold the key

The Pakistan cricket team for the India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series,2007 has some incredible bowlers such as the maverick Shoaib Akhtar and the mercurial Shahid Afridi.

Umar Gul is another superb bowler and it does need exceptional bowlers such as Umar Gul to make an impact in traditional Indian "bowlers graveyard" conditions

Shoaib Tanvir could be the key to the India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series

Shoaib Tanvir is an incredible find for the Pakistan cricket team and could be the best bowler in the India Vs Pakistan one day cricket series in India

In the age of computers analyzing bowlers and coaches "advising" cricket players to stick to the orthodox,Shoaib Tanvir is a welcome maverick in the India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series.

Tanvir is an extraordinary bowler with an unique bowling action and this Pakistan bowling upstart has stunned the Australian cricket team in the Twenty20 cricket World cup to give him the confidence to tackle the famous Indian batting lineup

All set for an exciting India Vs Pakistan cricket series, and the captains,Shoaib Malik and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are feeling the heat!

Rahul Dravid destined for cricket oblivion? Was Rahul Dravid treatedwell by Indian cricket board?

Rahul Dravid has been dropped from the Indian cricket team for the first two matches of the India Vs Pakistan one day international cricket series

Rahul Dravid has been summarily "rested" by Dilip Vengsarkar 's Indian cricket selection board

Rahul Dravid 's dropping is a bizarre decision reeking of a witchhunt against the Indian cricketing legends in the search for "young" talent. Dilip Vengsarkar 's selection board committee has committed the mistake of a lifetime by dropping such as seasoned campaigner as Rahul Dravid in a crucial India Vs Pakistan cricket series

Rahul Dravid case suggests that in Indian cricket, "rested" usually means being dropped from the Indian cricket team indefinitely

Rahul Dravid has lived in the system of Indian cricket long enough to know that "rested" is a euphemism for being summarily dropped from the Indian cricket team for an indefinite period of time

Rahul Dravid 's case illustrates how Indian cricket continuously dishonours and denigrates its cricketing legends without even a proper sendoff, but employs euphemisms to prevent public indignation for the brutal dropping from the Indian national cricket team

Rahul Dravid may be in bad form but he is desperately needed in a crunch India Vs Pakistan cricket series

Rahul Dravid is a cool calculated cricketer who plays cricket using his determination and mental strength. Dropping a player like Rahul Dravid from the Indian cricket team for the India Vs Pakistan cricket series is nothing but hara-kiri

It was a crime and an insult to Indian cricket to "rest" Rahul Dravid from the Indian cricket team

The question on everyone's mind after Rahul Dravid was "rested"- Who will be rested next, Sachin Tendulkar or Saurav Ganguly?

Rahul Dravid

Sachin Tendulkar fights a losing battle in India Vs Australia fifth oneday international

Sachin Tendulkar
Originally uploaded by MangaloreCity.com

Sachin Tendulkar played a classy knock ,but the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series seems destined to go Australia's way

Barring Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian cricket team played a poor game of cricket in the fifth India Vs Australia cricket ODI at Vododara.
Despite Sachin Tendulkar's fighting knock of 47, the Indian cricket team was bowled out for just 148 runs in the India Vs Australia ODI cricket match

Gilchrist made a mockery of the Indian cricket score, by slamming four sixes en route to a good score of 77 runs, but Sachin Tendulkar had provided the early magic by some amazing straight drives

Sachin Tendulkar was out to the best ball bowled in the India Vs Australia ODI cricket series

Sachin Tendulkar was out to an incredible ball by Brett Lee,probably the best ball in the ongoing India Vs Australia ODI cricket series. Brett Lee came back for his second spell, and bowled a peach of a delivery that drew Sachin Tendulkar to the front foot and seamed away at 150 mph to give an easy catch to Adam Gilchrist

With Sachin Tendulkar's dismissal, the last resistance of the Indian cricket team in this India Vs Australia cricket match faded away and the Indian cricket team folded up for 148 runs

India Vs Australia 5th ODI match summary - If Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly do not provide a great start for India, the Indian cricket team is a disaster

GameCricket.com predicts a win for the Australian cricket team in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

Sure,Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Indian cricket team is on a high after winning the Twenty20 cricket World cup, but the Australian cricket team of course has incredible talent and experience in one day international cricket matches to post a win for the Australian cricket team in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

Sachin Tendulkar holds the key for the Indian cricket team in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

Sachin Tendulkar will decide the outcome of the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series. This sounds like a chiche, even after almost twenty years of cricket by Sachin Tendulkar, but the Indian cricket team has evolved around Sachin and will continue to evolve around Sachin till he retires

Sachin Tendulkar was not a member of the World cup winning Indian Twenty20 cricket team in South Africa, and Sachin Tendulkar will be eager to prove a point to his detractors in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

The Australian cricket team's level of rustiness offers a good chance for the Indian cricket team to pull off an upset in the India Vs Australia one day cricket series

The Australian cricket team seems to be rusty after their long layoff and this could prove to be a great chance for the Indian cricket team in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

In summary, the Australian cricket team are the favorites to win the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series, but the Indian cricket team could cause an upset if Sachin Tendulkar displays his brilliance and the Australian cricket team do not recover from their rustiness

The Australian cricket team may be new to the Twenty20 cricket format but the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series provides a chance for the Australian cricket team to prove themselves to be masters of the one day internationals format

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his merry band of cricketers have the advantage of having the experience of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

The experience of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid will be a huge advantage for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his merry band of cricketers in the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

Apart from his immense talent,Sachin Tendulkar brings to the table, a great understanding of the cricket game and this will be invaluable for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Indian cricket team In the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

For example, while batting first, within a few overs Sachin Tendulkar typically will decide on the target score and convey it to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian cricket team's captain. This kind of perception is invaluable for Mahendra SIngh Dhoni and the Indian cricket team in the India Vs Australia cricket one day international series

The Australian cricket team appear rusty at the start of the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series, and this is the best chance for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Indian cricket team

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the Indian cricket team should exploit the rustiness of the Australian cricket team at the start of the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series

The Australian cricket team also are missing Ricky Ponting for the first few matches of the India Vs Australia one day international cricket series and it is a great opportunity for Dhoni and the Indian cricket team to grab the initiative

Sachin Tendulkar,Sachin Tendulkar is not a match winner anymore?

sachin tendulkar
Originally uploaded by chowdh60

Sachin Tendulkar was, is and will be a match winner for the Indian cricket team

Sachin Tendulkar is God. I am obviously a die hard Sachin Tendulkar cricket fan, and get amazed by Sachin Tendulkar's ability to take criticism from the cricket fans of his own country

Sachin Tendulkar is a victim of the "argumentative Indian"

Sachin Tendulkar scored a match winning knock of 91 runs against the England cricket team and was undone only by Simon Taufel, the umpire. Despite this match winning knock by Sachin Tendulkar, sections of the Indian media, and armchair enthusiasts in India criticize Sachin for his "slow" knock of 91

Sachin Tendulkar was criticized earlier by Ian Chappell

At the height of Sachin Tendulkar's dispute with Greg Chappell, Ian Chappell suggested that Sachin Tendulkar should retire, citing Sachin Tendulkar's knock of 241 not out against the Australian cricket team as being "too careful".

Sachin Tendulkar has endured a lot of such criticism in his test career but Ian Chappell's reasoning for Sachin's retirement was the most stupid

Only the opposing international cricket teams must be eagerly awaiting Sachin Tendulkar's retirement

Teams such as the England cricket team, the Australian cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team must be hoping that Sachin Tendulkar retires soon, but criticism from the Indian cricket fan is stupid

Monty Panesar, how Sachin Tendulkar should play Monty Panesar

Monty Panesar should be treated with disdain by Sachin Tendulkar

Monty Panesar has been treated with great respect by the Indian cricket team, especially Sachin Tendulkar in the first India Vs England cricket test at Lords

On a more sarcastic note, the Indian cricket batsmen such as Sachin Tendulkar seem to be treating Monty Panesar, the way Indian culture asks them to treat a fellow Indian in a foreign land

Monty Panesar should be treated with absolutely no respect by Sachin Tendulkar and the rest of the Indian cricket team and Sachin Tendulkar needs to hit Monty Panesar out of the attack as soon as possible

Monty Panesar was thrashed by Gilchrist and Sachin Tendulkar should do the same to Monty Panesar

Monty Panesar was hit for 24 runs in a single over by Adam Gilchrist, including three huge sixes past midwicket. Sachin Tendulkar should watch this video of Monty Panesar being demolished by Adam Gilchrist and take inspiration from it

Sachin Tendulkar played the same way against stalwarts like Glenn Mcgrath and Shane Warne, all that Sachin Tendulkar needs to do is to play Monty Panesar thinking Monty Panesar is just another club bowler!

Monty Panesar Vs Sachin Tendulkar cricket video and incredible celebration

Monty Panesar Vs Sachin Tendulkar video of an incredible celebration by Monty Panesar

Monty Panesar dismissed Sachin Tendulkar in the Lords first Test between the Indian and England cricket teams. Monty Panesar bowled another of his "Once in a blue moon" arm balls to get Sachin Tendulkar out "lbw" again.

Monty Panesar may have Sachin Tendulkar as his "bunny"

Monty Panesar may claim Sachin Tendulkar as his bunny. Sachin Tendulkar does appear extremely uncomfortable against Monty Panesar's left arm spin. Monty Panesar typically bowls an incredible line to Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is of course giving Monty Panesar more respect than Monty deserves from a batsman with 37 centuries to his name.Sachin Tendulkar's best option to counter Monty Panesar is to give Monty Panesar the Adam Gilchrist treatment.

Sachin Tendulkar needs to take Monty Panesar to the cleaners in order to avoid seeing Monty Panesar's incredible celebration again

Dhoni dropped from Indian cricket team?

Dhoni being dropped from Indian cricket team?

Rumors suggest that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be dropped from the Indian cricket team. Dhoni will be replaced by Dinesh Karthik, who is currently in the team as a specialist batsman

The argument suggests that Dhoni is not a good wicketkeeper, especially in English conditions and Dinesh Kartik can do a better job at keeping for the Indian cricket team

Why cannot Dhoni play as a specialist middle order batsman

Dhoni is currently being treated as an also-ran in the race for the much coveted middle order position. After Sachin Tendulkar, the immediate choices for the Indian cricket's middle order positions are Saurav Ganguly,Laxman and Yuvraj Singh. But typically, the Indian cricket team management seems to think that a strokeplayer like Dhoni can come in only at number 7 and not earlier

Dhoni dropped?Have the Indian cricket team management not heard of Kevin Pieterson?

Pieterson is as unorthodox as Dhoni and plays for the England cricket team at number four and very often intimidates the opposing cricket team. By playing predominatly off the front foot, Pieterson often damages the confidence of the opposing cricket team by scoring at over a run a ball.

Lets hope logic prevails and Dhoni is not dropped from the Indian cricket team for the first cricket test against the England cricket team

Inzamam treated badly by Pakistan cricket board

Inzamam Ul Haq should be treated better by the Pakistan cricket board

Inzamam Ul Haq has not been selected as one of the contracted players of the year by the Pakistan cricket board. Inzamam has been treated badly by the Pakistan cricket establishment again and this was the last nail in the coffin for Inzamam

Why cant Inzamam at least be given a hero's farewell by the Pakistan cricket board for his services to cricket?

Inzamam Ul Haq is being made a scapegoat for the Pakistan cricket team's world cup cricket debacle

Inzamam was of course the captain for the Pakistan cricket team in the cricket World cup. But, Inzamam was not the only cause for Pakistan's ignominious exit from the cricket World cup

Inzamam's past contributions to the Pakistan cricket team have been very conveniently forgotten. Very often, Inzamam was the only cricketer to stand up to the opposition in international one day and test cricket matches

Inzamam's treatment shows that Asian cricket teams do not know how to honour their heroes

Inzamam is but the latest cricket hero to be dump by an Asian cricket establishment. Right from the days of Gundappa Vishwanath, to Mohinder Amarnath, Indian and Pakistan cricket heroes have been unceremoniously dumped after a bad performance, without even standing up to applaud their past achievements

Inzamam should have perhaps learnt from Sunil Gavaskar and Imran Khan who probably understood this phenomenon best, and retired after an extraordinary cricket performance

Like Inzamam,Sachin Tendulkar is perhaps still at his best, but should he retire now to protect his post cricket career and reputation?

Sachin Tendulkar, curious tale of Sachin and the Sensex

Sachin Tendulkar hits 15000 runs in one day cricket and the Sensex hits 15000

Sachin Tendulkar's prolific run scoring has thrown up another interesting statistic. There is a weird correlation between the Indian Sensex and Sachin Tendulkar's run aggregate in one day International cricket matches

Sachin Tendulkar's arrival heralded the Indian economic reforms

Coincidentally,Sachin Tendulkar's arrival in the Indian cricket team also saw the launch of the Indian economic reforms.

As an article in the Times of India by Abhishek Raghunath points out,Sachin Tendulkar had leaped ahead of the Sensex in terms of his run aggregate early in his career, but the Indian Sensex has caught on

Sachin Vs the Indian Sensex , the statistics

  • When Sachin Tendulkar scored just 200 runs in ODI cricket matches, the Sensex was at 4000 points

  • Sachin Tendulkar then went into a rampage at Sharjah vs the Australian cricket team and later against Sri Lanka. Soon enough by February 1997, Sachin Tendulkar had clearly beaten the Sensex

  • By 2006, Sachin Tendulkar was above 13000 runs in one day international cricket matches, but the Sensex was starting to move up quickly and soon touched 9000 points

  • Today, Sachin Tendulkar and the Indian Sensex are almost at par,at 15000

Will Sachin Tendulkar overtake the Indian Sensex again

Millions of Sachin Tendulkar fans including yours truly, are hoping that Sachin uses the current England cricket series to leap past the Sensex again

India Vs South Africa live one day cricket series in Ireland,Win for South Africa predicted

The India Vs South Africa live one day cricket series should see an win for the South African cricket team

The India Vs South Africa one day international cricket matches are underway in Ireland.

We,at GameCricket.com, predict a win for the South Africa cricket team in the India Vs South Africa one day international cricket matches

The windy, seaming conditions for the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket series should favor the South African cricket team

The South African cricket team should win the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket matches. The hostility of the South African bowling attack will be exacerbated by the presence of the harsh windy weather and a pitch expected to favor seam bowling

The South African pace bowlers such Ntini and Steyn could be expected to exploit the seaming conditions for the India Vs South Africa live one day international cricket series in Ireland

The Indian cricket team for the India Vs South Africa one day international seems tentative and appears to be going through the motions

The frequent calls for the Indian senior cricketers to be sacked and adverse publicity after the World cup cricket debacle seem to have a detrimental effect on the Indian cricket team. The Indian cricketers such as Saurav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar seem to be careful and tentative and not in a position to play their natural game

The GameCricket.com solution for the Indian cricket team in the India Vs South Africa one day international cricket test series, play the natural game

On pure statistics and past one-on-one encounters, the Indian cricket team is actually a better cricket team than the South African cricket team, as seen in statistical simulations of one day international cricket matches.

If the the Indian cricketers play their natural cricket game like the champions they really are,the Indian cricket team may still have a good chance against the South African cricket team

Indian cricketers, peer into the mirror and see a roaring lion rather than a puny cat

Zaheer Abbas, most stylish batsmen ever?

Zaheer Abbas may be the most stylish batsman to have played cricket

Zaheer Abbas, GR Vishwanath and David Gower are the most stylish batsmen I have seen playing test cricket.

How do you define style in cricket? Style in cricket implies elegance even when playing a bad shot or getting out. Zaheer Abbas exemplified style through his incomparable back foot square drive and Gundappa Vishwanath exemplified his style through his uppish square cut.

Zaheer Abbas and Gundappa Vishwanath may not have great batting records in comparison to Brian Charles Lara or Sachin Tendulkar, but they definitely had better "style" and elegance

Here is Zaheer Abbas at his best , executing a stylish back foot drive

Sachin Tendulkar has the last laugh

Sachin Tendulkar always has the last laugh in Indian cricket

Sachin Tendulkar has scored two consecutive test centuries against the Bangladesh cricket team and hopefully quelled the anti Sachin Tendulkar brigade for some time. Sachin Tendulkar proved once again that he is after all one of the greatest test cricketers of his generation

Sachin Tendulkar's centuries against Bangladesh- Please dont say that it was only Bangladesh

Sachin Tendulkar does not care about the opposition or any specious arguments by the so called cricket experts.

Why is it that Sachin Tendulkar is criticized whether or not he scores against the Bangladesh cricket team. When Sachin Tendulkar failed in the World cup one dayer against the Bangladesh cricket team, the cricket critics said that Sachin failed against the Bangladesh cricket minnows.

When Sachin Tendulkar has scored two consecutive centuries against the Bangladesh cricket team, the argument is going to be that Sachin Tendulkar is taking advantage of playing minnows like the Bangladesh cricket team to further his records

What is Sachin Tendulkar supposed to do?Maybe next time Sachin Tendulkar should hit a century in one test and get bowled for zero in the second test so that he satisfies both kinds of cricket critics!

Sachin Tendulkar's test cricket centuries mean that it is time for Ian Chappell to eat his words

Ian Chappell's arguments for Sachin Tendulkar's retirement were weird in the first place. Ian Chappell felt that Sachin Tendulkar needed to retire from Indian test cricket simply because Sachin was not longer the best in the cricket world.

Sachin Tendulkar may still not be the best in international cricket yet, but he is surely an important asset to the Indian cricket team

Sachin Tendulkar teaches you to bat

Sachin Tendulkar's straight drive is a sign that there is a God

If you ever doubted that God exists, you should see Sachin Tendulkar's straight drives. Sachin Tendulkar's straight drives are made in .. heaven

Check out Sachin Tendulkar's great straight drive against Wasim Akram

Sachin Tendulkar unleashes an amazing straight drive off Wasim Akram's bowling. Indian cricket's other great,Anil Kumble can see that he has been lucky to witness a great shot by Sachin Tendulkar

Mahendra Singh Dhoni- The next Sachin Tendulkar?

Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs to bat at number 3

The only reason Mahendra Singh Dhoni is batting at number 7 is that wicketkeepers usually bat at number 7. :-)
Its stupid that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a match winner is batting late in the batting order. The earlier self-styled "Guru" coach of the
Indian cricket team,Mr. Greg Chappell, was really underutilizing Dhoni's potential

If Mahendra Singh Dhoni is really among the top ten batsmen in the world, Dhoni should bat up the order,at number 3.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs the support of the Indian cricket captain and coach

Players with raw talent like Mahendra Singh Dhoni need the support of the Indian cricket coach and captain.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been underutilized so far in his career and needs to be given ample opportunities so that he can play
to his potential

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's greatest worry- satisfying the expectations of the Indian cricket fan

The Indian cricket fan expects Mahendra Singh Dhoni to hit a century in every match and a six of every ball.

As Sachin Tendulkar has found out, much to his chagrin, one failure in an important match can wipe off all of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's greatest
achievements

Its easier for Mahendra Singh Dhoni to play Brett Lee than satisfy the Indian cricket fan

Sachin Tendulkar should play the 2011 cricket World cup

Sachin Tendulkar should play the 2011 cricket World cup

Sachin Tendulkar has been the mainstay of the Indian cricket team for the last seventeen years. Emotionally, it hurts me when people, instigated by self-styled cricket Gurus and their various siblings, ask for Sachin Tendulkar's retirement

Sachin Tendulkar has given up so much for Indian cricket that the Indian cricket fans are just not being fair

Sachin Tendulkar is still Indian one day cricket's best player

Despite Sachin Tendulkar's past achievements,I would be the first to agree that Sachin Tendulkar should retire from Indian cricket, if there is a better player in India to replace him

The point is that there is no Indian cricket player as good as Sachin Tendulkar in the country.Arguably, Rahul Dravid is a better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar but Rahul Dravid's recent one day international cricket record is quite poor

Also,Sachin Tendulkar bowls ten overs of his medley of off spin, leg spin and medium pace in every one day international cricket match. Sachin Tendulkar, the spinner, is often a better bowler than even Anil Kumble on a turning track

In summary, for Sachin Tendulkar to be replaced, Indian cricket needs a cricketer who bats at a one day international cricket average of 43 and bowls during the opposition's slog overs

Sachin Tendulkar should keep playing for India, until a better Indian player replaces him

Ian Chappell's argument that Sachin Tendulkar should retire, since Brian Lara is apparently better than him, is a stupid argument. Sachin Tendulkar needs to play as long as he can contribute to Indian cricket and no better Indian cricketer can replace him

Who is Ian Chappell to tell Sachin to retire?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Indian cricket

Every jerk in the country and outside seems to think that there is something wrong with Indian cricket and "something" needs to be done about it

The BCCI needs to avoid this precise knee jerk stupid reaction to Indian cricket

Who is Ian Chappell to tell Sachin to retire

Ian Chappell is just another smart guy who says something controversial and keeps himself in the news (and gets invited by the stupid Indian media) for his "insightful" (ha!) comments.

There is nothing wrong with Sachin Tendulkar- he is playing perfectly well. Look at Sachin Tendulkar's average over the last year and you will see that Sachin Tendulkar's average is better than even Ricky Ponting's average. Surprised? You should be surprised , given the nonsense that the Indian media is feeding you

Inzamam said it best-the subcontinent's media does not support the teams

Look at the way the Australian media reacts to every Australian cricket team's loss. The Australian loss is always either blamed on the umpiring, the bad pitch or the hostile overseas crowds! The Australian cricketers can do absolutely nothing wrong

In contrast, the Indian media would criticize even a match winning innings by Sachin Tendulkar- he didn't rotate the strike , for example.

Look at Ian Chappell's criticism of Sachin Tendulkar's almost match winning double hundred against Australia- he criticizes Sachin for not using his talent, but using sheer determination and focus to score runs. The same Ian Chappell is now saying that Sachin lacks determination but has talent..Please dont listen to these so-called Gurus - including the current Australian coach of Indian cricket

Sachin Tendulkar should never be dropped

Sachin Tendulkar should never be dropped from the Indian cricket team

Sachin Tendulkar should never be dropped from the Indian cricket team. It hurts and pains me to hear about Sachin Tendulkar being summarily dropped from the Indian cricket team.

Sachin Tendulkar is a crunch time player for the Indian cricket team

The most common complaint about Sachin Tendulkar nowadays is that he is not a crunch match cricket player and tends to succumb under pressure. But, that argument about Sachin Tendulkar is really flawed

The perception about Sachin Tendulkar's so-called failures for the Indian cricket team is influenced by two factors- Our large expectations from Sachin Tendulkar and his batting position

Since Sachin Tendulkar opens the Indian team's cricket innings or bats at number four, any good innings by Sachin Tendulkar is not noticed and taken as part of the course and nothing extraordinary.

Have you ever wondered what would happened if Sachin Tendulkar had failed in those cricket innings when he scores centuries?

If Sachin Tendulkar scored a century for the Indian cricket team against Bangladesh, people would have said that Sachin Tendulkar scores only against minnows

Sachin Tendulkar is now in a non-enviable lose-lose scenario in Indian cricket. If Sachin Tendulkar had scored against the Bangladesh cricket team and if the Indian cricket team had scored a facile win, the Indian cricket media would have taken potshots at Sachin saying he picked an opportunity to score against a minnow cricket team

Sachin Tendulkar gets a phone call

Humor to ease the pain for Indian cricket fans

I am a Sachin Tendulkar fan and will always be one- but in view of his recent failure in the India Vs Sri Lanka crunch match, I can resist adding this joke

A phone rings in the Indian dressing room

Sehwag picks up the phone- Mrs. Sachin Tendulkar is on the other end of the phone inquiring about Sachin. Sehwag tells her that Sachin has just gone to bat.

Mrs. Sachin Tendulkar says that she will hold the line since Sachin should be back soon

Indian cricket team losing to Bangladesh in World cup cricket group match?

Indian cricket team is struggling against Bangladesh cricket in the World cup cricket Group match

The Indian cricket team is struggling at 125/4 off 37 overs against the unfancied Bangladesh cricket team

The Indian cricket batsmen were tentative to start with and soon lost Sehwag - playing without moving his feet again

Uthappa showed promise for the Indian cricket team but was soon out prodding at the ball outside the offstump

The Indian cricket batsmen are treating the cricket ball as if it is a live grenade

The Indian cricket team are running scared of the cricket ball and only gingerly touching the ball with the bat

The Indian cricket team soon lost Sachin Tendulkar as he tried to force the pace for a change, but his current amazing weakness against the spinners was exposed as he was caught behind of the foxy Rafique

Indian cricket team's only hope are Yuvraj and Dhoni in Group match against Bangladesh cricket team

Yuvraj Singh seems to be in fine form for the Indian cricket team and he seems to be the only hope for India along with Dhoni to follow next. Yuvraj and Dhoni need to power the Indian cricket team to a score of at least 225 runs to make a match of this India Vs Bangladesh Group match of the cricket world cup,2007

Indian cricket team could be out of the cricket World cup if they lose this opener against the Bangladesh cricket team and time is running out!

Bangladesh cricket team may beat India in World cup cricket Group Match

Indian cricket team may lose to Bangladesh cricket team in World cup cricket tournament

The Indian cricket team has a chance of losing the first Group match of the World cup cricket series in the West Indies. The Indian cricket team faces the Bangladesh cricket team who are no minnows to World cricket and appear to be in great form

Bangladesh cricket team could beat the Indian cricket team in the slow pitches of the Caribbean

The Indian cricket batsmen could struggle against the Bangladesh cricket team spinners such as Rafique who can exploit the slow pitches of the Caribbean and make the Indian cricket batsmen struggle

The Indian cricket team could face upto three spinners in the match against the Bangladesh cricket team at Trinidad

The Indian cricket team could be out of the World cup cricket tournament

The Indian cricket team should be careful not to lose against the Bangladesh cricket team. The Indian cricket team is obviously a better team than the Bangladesh cricket team but in a one-off match at the cricket World cup, surprises could occur.

The Indian cricket team should play their natural game and should win against the Bangladesh cricket team in the Group match of the cricket World cup

The Indian cricket team should not get bogged down against the Bangladesh cricket team or unnecessarily try to slog early. The Indian cricket team should realise that at most West Indian cricket pitches, 250 runs is the ideal cricket score that is quite hard to chase

An Indian cricket team with Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid should not lose in the first match of the World cup cricket tournament

The Indian cricket team have traditionally been slow starters in past World cup cricket tournaments , and should not let the expectations of the Indian supporters make them play an unnatural game. The Indian cricket team has experienced players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble, and these great players should stand up and not let past mistakes happen

Irfan Pathan's struggles- Who is responsible?

Irfan Pathan is currently struggling in the Indian cricket team

Irfan Pathan seems to reflect the song 'I am half the man I used to be'

Irfan Pathan is struggling in both bowling and batting departments and should count himself lucky to be in the Indian cricket team for the World cup cricket tournament

The Irfan Pathan mess - Who is really responsible?

Irfan Pathan seems to been made the scapegoat in a political mess. Who can explain the "sudden" drop of form, just days after Irfan Pathan landed a hattrick against the Pakistan cricket team

Who is responsible for the Irfan Pathan debacle- Could it be the same person who made Sourav Ganguly miss an important year of international cricket?

Irfan Pathan's struggles - Why dont the senior cricket players speak up

Irfan Pathan is one of the victims as a result of the frequent experimentation in the Indian cricket team in terms of the batting order, the bowling sequence and the team selection

Why dont the Indian senior players like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid speak up against this stupid experimentation- Imagine if Sachin's new batting order is going to cut short his cricketing career!

My take on Irfan Pathan's so-called loss of form

Irfan Pathan is primarily a swing bowler and is deadly in the initial overs of a cricket match especially with the ball that curves into the middle stump from outside off.

Irfan was robbed of his opening bowling status and when he started bowling with less venom, the Indian cricket coach started criticizing Irfan Pathan in public and in the press. This criticism has obviously psychologically demoralized Irfan Pathan and led him to a downward spiral in international cricket

The moral of the Irfan Pathan story:Get rid of this cricket quack in charge of the Indian cricket team before he does any more damage to young cricketers

Sehwag-The importance of being Viru of Indian cricket

Sehwag-the importance of being Viru of the Indian cricket team

Sehwag is repeatedly being selected in the Indian cricket team for his "superhuman match winning skills".Is this hope of Sehwag putting up a match winning score justified to keeping him in the Indian cricket team indefinitely

Sehwag is another of the long procession of the Indian cricket team's superstars

Sehwag and the triumph of individual cricketing talent in the Indian cricket team

Sehwag epitomizes the importance of the "hero syndrome" affecting the idolizing Indian cricket spectators, selectors and other cricket followers

Before Sehwag, there was Sachin Tendulkar, before Sachin there were Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev-For every success, these Indian cricket stars like Sehwag are treated like Gods and dumped after every failure

Sehwag's importance and New Zealand's success

In comparison to Sehwag's individual talent, no one in the New Zealand cricket team has had super talent, apart from maybe Richard Hadlee, but the New Zealand cricket team has been reasonably successful in world cricket

There seems to be a virtue in not having great talent and the expectations the talent leads itself to

"Rahul Dravid is not a great ODI cricket player"

Is Rahul Dravid a truly great ODI cricket player

"Rahul Dravid is not a good one day international cricket player"-This quote about Rahul Dravid was attributed to a former Indian cricketing great

In the years from 1996-2002,Rahul Dravid struggled in one day international cricket. Rahul Dravid could never find the gaps and often was guilty of either playing perfect defence or hitting the ball too hard, and unable to rotate the strike

Rahul Dravid is a truly great ODI player today

The greatness of Rahul Dravid is that he is now debatably one of the best one day international cricket players in the world. The great players like Rahul Dravid are not the ones who,by nature, excel at a certain type of game, but those who adapt and change their game to suit the requirements

Rahul Dravid- a player of many shades today

Rahul Dravid nowadays excels at consolidating the Indian cricket innings during the initial overs, rotating the strike during the middle overs and slogging the cricket ball all over the park during the end overs. Rahul Dravid is in short, a truly complete and great ODI cricket player

Rahul Dravid's improvement in ODI cricket

A look at Rahul Dravid's statistics over the years will show a marked improvement in his strike rate as the years progress and a reasonably good batting average. Rahul Dravid may have scored only 10,000 runs in ODI cricket, which is not a record compared to his peers such as Sachin Tendulkar, but his contributions in tight situations has been incredible and Indian cricket will always be proud of Rahul Dravid's achievements

Rahul Dravid - Three cheers to Rahul Dravid on completing 10,000 runs in ODI cricket

Sachin Tendulkar proves media wrong with timely ton

Sachin Tendulkar proves GameCricket.com right with a timely century

Sachin Tendulkar is still one of the best batsmen in the world and we have been crowing exactly that in our GameCricket.com blog. Its nice when Sachin acknowledges our comments by launching into another fantastic century. The West Indies cricket team bore the brunt of Sachin Tendulkar's large blade as he thrashed the West Indies bowlers to all parts of the ground

Sachin Tendulkar is still the best batsman in the Indian cricket team

Sachin Tendulkar hit this century in Vadodara off only 76 balls. It amazes me that Sachin Tendulkar with forty one centuries in one day international cricket matches can be questioned by sections of the media.

Please dont question Sachin Tendulkar's talents again

I appeal to the media - Please do not question Sachin Tendulkar's greatness again and do not be stupid enough to ask for dropping Sachin

Sachin Tendulkar should be dropped. Are u crazy?

Sachin Tendulkar should be dropped from the Indian cricket team

Per the media,Sachin Tendulkar is a spent force in Indian cricket and needs to be dropped from the Indian cricket team. Dropping Sachin Tendulkar from the Indian cricket team is the craziest idea I have heard for a long time

Sachin Tendulkar was the Indian cricket team's best performers in the recent cricket season

Sachin Tendulkar has been quietly accumulating runs in the recent cricket series starting with the DLF cup in Malaysia and actually has a better record than any other Indian cricket batsman. Here are Sachin's stats for the last season, per an recent article by Prem Sanjay on the internet

Sachin Tendulkar Runs: 480 Average 36.9

Rahul Dravid Runs:358 Average 32.5

Mahendra Singh Dhoni Runs:336 Average 30.5

Sachin Tendulkar has incredibly scored the most runs and has easily the best average among all the other Indian cricket batsmen.

Sachin Tendulkar is actually among the most prolific batsmen in the world in the past season

Incredibly enough,Sachin Tendulkar has scored at a prolific rate in the past cricket season , compared to other so-called ageless current batting greats such as Ponting and Lara

Sachin Tendulkar's stats in comparison to other world batsmen

Sachin Tendulkar Runs: 480 Average 36.9

Ponting Runs:460 Average:38.3

Lara Runs:472 Average:33.7

Gilchrist Runs:298 Average:27.0

Hussey Runs 392 Average:98.0

Kallis Runs 332 Average:36.8

Sachin Tendulkar has scored more runs than all these top players of world cricket-barring Hyssey and Ponting (by a small margin),Sachin has a better batting average than all these so-called greats of world cricket today.

If the media feels Sachin Tendulkar must be dropped after seeing these figures, the people in the media must be really stupid!

Ganguly and Inzamam prove cricket experience cannot be purchased from a shelf

Sourav Ganguly and Inzamam, experienced cricketers, have proved that experience cannot be bought off the shelf

  • Saurav Ganguly helped the Indian cricket team beat South Africa in the first India Vs South Africa cricket test

  • Inzamam Ul Haq has enabled the Pakistan cricket team to beat South Africa in the second cricket test.

  • Jayasurya has almost come back from the dead to make the Sri Lankan cricket team potential favorites for the cricket World cup in the West Indies

Do you think the new cricket players around the world lack talent?

Of course not, but cricket experience at the highest level enables you to play the kind of match winning knock that Sourav Ganguly,Jayasurya and Inzy have been displaying against all odds at the most crucial time

Sachin Tendulkar, are you listening? We are awaiting that magic knock by Sachin against top-class opposition-I am sure that magic knock by Sachin is not far away

Sachin Tendulkar Vs Shane Warne- Good old Sachin

Sachin Tendulkar Vs Shane Warne-will we see the good ol' Sachin

Sachin Tendulkar takes on the West Indies tomorrow in another one day international cricket match

Will we ever see the great Sachin Tendulkar at his best again?

The cricket purist in me screams that Sachin Tendulkar will be back for the Indian cricket team, just as Jayasurya came back to blast bowling attacks again- You just cannot keep a talent like Sachin Tendulkar away

Here is a short clip of Sachin Tendulkar at his peak- taking on the world's greatest legspinner ever,Shane Warne

Sachin Tendulkar at his best is truly incredible

Jayasurya's comeback- Can Sachin Tendulkar revive the magic?

Sanath Jaysurya has made an incredible comeback to international cricket

Sanath Jayasurya was almost forced to retire at the start of the recent Sri Lanka Vs England cricket series. But Jayasurya has comeback in dramatic fashion by bludgeoning the cricket bowlers around the world and winning man of the match awards all over the place.

No one doubted Sanath Jayasurya's talent-but the whisper was out in international cricket circles that Jayasurya was past his prime. But Jayasurya's recent performances against England and now New Zealand have once again confirmed that Jayasurya is one of the most destructive opening batsmen in world cricket

Can Sachin Tendulkar too revive the old magic

In his heyday,Sachin Tendulkar could demolish a cricket opposition in a matter of a few overs, but the cumulative expectations of his cricket fans have had a detrimental effect on his cricket game and once finds Sachin to be playing way below his ability

In his prime,Sachin Tendulkar used to treat spin bowlers like Harris with such contempt, but his now venerable niceness seems to be dominating his personality

Sachin Tendulkar needs to wake up and realise that he is one of the most destructive batsmen that world cricket has ever seen, barring perhaps Vivian Richards

Wake up Sachin and show the bowlers of world cricket that you are not always nice!

Durban weather disappoints India-Indian batting fails as well

India lost the Durban test to South Africa due to inept batting and a failure from the Durban weather- The Indian batsmen however did not believe in letting the Durban weather play a part in the result of the India Vs South Africa second test and quickly ensured that the Indian batting folded up before the weather became any worse.

Once the Indian cricket team is determined to lose,no bad weather can hold them up!

Jokes apart, Ntini bowled with a lot of fire in the India Vs South Africa second cricket test under overcast conditions and the second cricket test result was determined in the first over of the fifth day when Sachin Tendulkar fell to Ntini for a duck. It quite amazes people that great batsmen like Sachin and Sehwag fall cheaply while bowlers like Zaheer and Kumble play for almost an hour.

The reason for the failures of top order batsmen in world cricket is the research done on the weaknesses of the batsmen. Sachin Tendulkar has a weakness for the inswinger from outside the off to the middle stump and every bowler of the world from Mohammed Asif to Brett Lee to Ntini will continue to exploit that weakness. Unless Sachin Tendulkar can solve that problem, his batting woes are bound to continue.
